Filming, photographing or record meetings

The press and public are allowed to film, audio record, photograph or use social media to report on Council or committees which are held in public.

The Council asks that anyone intending to film, photograph or audio record a meeting contacts the Democratic Services Officer present at the meeting. This allows the officer to inform the Chair of the committee.

If you do not wish to be filmed or recorded you need to tell the Chair or Democratic Services Officer before the start of the meeting. The Council has produced a filming protocol.

The Department of Communities and Local Government has produced a guide for the press and the public on attending and reporting local government meetings.
