Attending a council meeting
Council meetings and committees are usually open to the press and public and take place in the Town Hall. Committee meetings are live-streamed to the public and can be accessed through the agenda for each meeting. The live-stream will often remain available after the meeting has taken place.
Committee agendas, reports and minutes are available to view.
There are occasions when confidential matters need to be considered. When these items are discussed the committee will consider these separately and these items will not be available for public viewing for the duration of the discussion. Reasons have to be given why the report is considered to be confidential. Full details are available in the council's constitution.
