Safeguarding is the process of protecting children, young people and adults from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We all have a role to play in helping to keep vulnerable people safe.
Watford Borough Council is committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults who may be at risk of harm.
If you are concerned that a child, young person or adult may be at risk, report your concerns as soon as possible. You do not need to be certain that harm has occurred before sharing a concern.
Watford Borough Council does not investigate child protection or adult safeguarding concerns. Hertfordshire County Council is the statutory safeguarding authority for Hertfordshire and is responsible for receiving and responding to these concerns.
If someone is in immediate danger, a crime is being committed, or urgent medical attention is required, call 999 immediately.
