Advisory disabled parking bays and eligibility
A disabled parking bay shows drivers that a parking space is intended for Blue Badge users.
You can apply for a disabled parking bay near your home if you:
- Are a permanent resident in Watford
- You hold a current Disabled Blue Badge.
- You are in receipt of Disability Living/Attendance Allowance, mobility component at the higher rate or PIP Personal Independent Payment at the higher rate.
- There is a vehicle registered at the address where you are applying for the bay to be installed and the driver also lives at the address.
- The vehicle is taxed and insured.
- The driver holds a valid driving licence.
- You do not have a driveway, garage or any other off street parking.
- You do not live in a controlled parking zone (only applies to Three Rivers residents).

Remove or maintain a disabled bay
Situations when an advisory disabled parking bay is not possible
It may not be possible to create a disabled parking bay when:
- existing yellow line parking restrictions are in place
- it would cause an obstruction or issues with road safety
- neighbours' objections are upheld by the council
Parking in an Advisory Disabled Bay
Disabled Badge Holders using an advisory disabled bay marked in the Controlled Parking Zones must also hold a valid permit or visitor voucher, during controlled hours.
