Installation of new gates and booking system for public tennis courts to improve access

Tennis at Cassiobury Park

We’re installing new keypad entry systems at our public tennis courts to improve fair use and access for everyone...

Installation dates (courts closed on these days):

  • 13 May – Oxhey Grange
  • 14 May – Lea Farm
  • 20 May – Orchard
  • 21 May – Cassiobury

Work will begin early in the morning, and courts will be unavailable for most of the day while installation takes place.

From 1 June, all courts will remain free to use, but players will need to book in advance via Clubspark.

After booking, you’ll receive a code to access the courts. We encourage everyone to start using Clubspark ahead of launch to get familiar with the new system.

The new keypad gate system is being introduced to provide the following benefits:

  • Unique PIN codes issued for the time you have booked
  • Advanced booking to ensure courts are available
  • Easy booking via the LTA Play Tennis app, allowing you to find and book courts on the go
  • Reduced anti-social behaviour and vandalism
  • A QR code on the gate enabling on-the-spot booking, subject to availability

This project is part of a nationwide project following investment by the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation, delivered by the LTA, to improve access and use of tennis courts across Great Britain. As part of the investment, Watford Borough Council and LTA will be working together to improve opportunities for all residents to play and enjoy tennis
