Families with young children are invited to enjoy a brand‑new, free monthly session combining dance, play and history, as Mini Museum Movers launches on Thursday 7 May 2026.
Delivered in partnership by the Museum of Watford and BEEE Creative, Mini Museum Movers is designed for confident walkers up to the age of five and offers a fun, relaxed environment where children and their grown‑ups can move together, play creatively and explore objects from history through music, games and guided dance activities. Younger siblings are welcome to attend.
The sessions will take place on the first Thursday of every month, with three opportunities to join in across two Watford venues:
- Watford Palace Theatre
10:00–11:00
11:15–12:15 - West Watford Community Centre
13:30–14:30
All sessions are free to attend and operate on a drop‑in basis, with spaces allocated from 15 minutes before each session begins.
Mini Museum Movers forms part of the Museum of Watford’s programme of creative, family‑friendly activities, encouraging early learning through movement and play while helping children build confidence, curiosity and creativity in an inclusive setting.
Semeta Bloomfield, Community Commissiong Lead for Watford Borough Council, said: “Mini Museum Movers is all about making history accessible, playful and joyful for our youngest visitors. By combining movement, music and real historical objects, we’re creating meaningful early experiences that children and their grown‑ups can enjoy together. Working in partnership with BEEE Creative allows us to bring specialist expertise and creativity to these sessions, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming families.”
The Museum of Watford has been made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery player.
