1,000 trees to be planted thanks to Watford FC away shirt sales

WFC Away Kit

Watford FC is proud to confirm that sales from the 2025/26 green away kit will allow around 1,000 trees to be purchased and planted in Hertfordshire...

As part of the ‘Your Tree, Our Future’ programme, run by Watford Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council, the club is donating 50p from every away shirt sale this season.

Like this season’s home kit, the away shirt is crafted from recycled polyester, reflecting the club’s commitment to sustainability.

Watford FC ranked fourth in the most recent Sport Positive Leagues table, which assesses clubs based on their environmental and social impact.

The club is striving to meet the target of being net zero by 2040, while achieving a 50 per cent carbon cut by 2030.

Work at the club is continuing to protect and support local ecology at our London Colney training ground, and we strive to mitigate activity that has a detrimental impact on the environment.

“I’m very thankful for the support of our fans on this joint initiative with Watford Borough Council,” said Tarang Panchal, Head of Procurement and Sustainability.

“The purchases they have made will be making a real difference to the environment as the young trees grow and impact the CO2 levels in our atmosphere.

“Small commitments add up to make a big difference.”
