Following a marketing process inviting expressions of interest for future uses of Woodside Community Centre, we will be exploring the development of a full proposal with Watford Community Housing to operate and run the facility as a community centre to support a range of uses and activities to support our local community.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “We’re now pleased to be exploring a full proposal with Watford Community Housing to bring the centre back into active use, supporting a wide range of activities for the community.
“Their strong track record running centres like Harebreaks and Leavesden Green – where we invested this year to make Harebreaks more sustainable and welcoming – gives us confidence that Woodside can become another thriving, welcoming hub at the heart of the community, building on the success of groups such as Dan Tien, Watford Deaf Club and Zumba Gold

Amy Willcox-Smith, Assistant Director of Customers and Communities for Watford Community Housing, said: "We are pleased to be exploring options for the site at Woodside and we are in the early stages of identifying local partners who might want to work with us to create a sustainable model for the building. We manage homes in the local area and would like the hub to be a space that is shared by different groups and offers a variety of services that support residents and their families.”
