Watford Borough Council is pleased to announce the successful delivery of the first Watford Business Pledge Lunch & Learn session, held on Wednesday 25 February 2026...
The event brought together organisations from across the borough to learn, connect and explore ways to champion responsible and community minded business practices.
The council extends its thanks to all attendees who took the time to participate and contribute to strengthening Watford’s vibrant business network. The session welcomed a mix of new faces as well as many existing Watford Business Pledge organsiations, highlighting the growing momentum behind the initiative.
Attendees heard from Paul Bevington, Mike Lewis and Terence Ritchie of EMW Law, who shared their organisation’s inspiring journey to achieving B-Corp certification. Their presentation offered valuable insight into how businesses of all sizes can embed sustainability, responsibility and strong community engagement into their operations.

The session received strong feedback from attendees, who described it as, “Very helpful and insightful”, “Very inspiring” and “Very informative”.
This positive response reflects the growing interest among Watford businesses in sharing knowledge, improving operational responsibility and strengthening their role within the local community.

The Watford Business Pledge is a key Watford Borough Council initiative aimed at supporting businesses to learn from one another, strengthen local collaboration, and champion good business practice across the borough. Through events such as the Lunch & Learn, the Council continues to foster a sustainable, inclusive and connected local economy.
