Today Winning Moves UK and Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company, announce that the new MONOPOLY: Watford Edition will feature a town charity...
"It's our way of thanking the public for getting behind the game so very enthusiastically," says Yasmin East, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK, who is producing the board under license from Hasbro.
Last month Winning Moves UK announced the town is getting its own official version of the world’s most favourite board game.
At the time, the public was invited to send in suggestions for GENERAL local landmarks – such as Cassiobury Park and Vicarage Road Stadium – to feature in the game. Polls have now closed for these general suggestions but are re-opening for a week – from today – specifically for charity nominations.

Ms. East adds: "We would like to formally thank everyone who has sent in nominations. We are studying each one. Meantime, now – as our way of a thank you – we are delighted to announce that a Watford charity will get to star prominently in the game.”
The Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, says: “One of the things that makes our town so special is our strong sense of community. We are incredibly fortunate to have so many charities and volunteers who work tirelessly, day in and day out, to support residents, bring people together and make a real difference to people’s lives.
“To see a Watford charity ‘Pass GO’ and take its place on the MONOPOLY: Watford Edition board is a wonderful way to celebrate that spirit. It shines a spotlight on the compassion, generosity and civic pride that define our town.
“I would encourage everyone to get involved and nominate a local charity.”
For charities to qualify for this opportunity and be in the running to be selected they must be Watford linked, as well as be official.
The public can nominate charities and charities can nominate themselves.
The charity will get to feature on its very own Community Chest space.
Watford was selected from a shortlist of 20 places from across the UK to land its very own official MONOPOLY board.
Charity nominations are invited by email to: watford@winningmoves.co.uk Nominations will be accepted for consideration from now and until 23.59pm next Monday(9 March 2026). The game will hit the shops in time for this Christmas (2026).
