With the summer season ending, Cassiobury Park's ever-popular paddling pools will be undergoing essential maintenance to ensure their continued operation for years...

The replacement of the recirculation water tanks, which is scheduled to start in October, comes following another successful year that many visitors flocking to enjoy the park's amenities. A staple of summer fun, the paddling pools facilities have been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands since it opened in 2017.

To minimise disruptions, work will take place when the facility is closed for winter. The long-term goal is to reduce maintenance needs when it is open and to uphold its status as a top-class facility.

Ustigate Waterplay, will coordinate the works including the transportation of tank and lifting equipment through the Langley Way entrance, implementing protective measures to protect the park's greenery. Throughout the duration of the works, any inconvenience to park users and noise levels will be minimised to maintain the tranquillity of the open space.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “Since 2017, Cassiobury Park's paddling pools have welcomed lots of visitors. They are much-loved by residents and visitors. We are replacing the recirculation tanks so we can increase the hygiene and efficiency of this facility as well as making improvements that will reduce water and energy consumption. During the works, we will ensure minimal disruption to the park, its visitors and nearby residents"

The project is scheduled for completion by the end of February. For more information on Cassiobury Park, please visit www.watford.gov.uk/cassioburypark.
