Watford Fringe Festival returns with its biggest lineup yet—Fringe previews, Glastonbury acts, local stars, *The Piano* performer, Wham!'s discoverer, and even live pro-wrestling!

There’s everything from pre-Edinburgh Fringe shows to a band hot off their set at Glastonbury, a musician who appeared on the recent series of Channel Four’s The Piano, the man who ‘discovered’ Wham!, the best in local talent and even live pro-wrestling at this year’s record-breaking Watford Fringe Festival.

We’re less than a month away from the start of an extraordinary live line-up of great theatre, music, comedy, dance, magic and family fun-filled shows taking place across July, right on your doorstep.

There will be 188 performances – the most ever staged - including:

  • 18 Pre-Edinburgh Fringe shows such as hypnotist Matt Hale, the Ironing Board Man, Lunch with President Obonjo, and the Utterly Ultimate Fringe Showdown Show featuring a guest panel of comedians and Fringe insiders
  • Southern Beauty, a collective of talented musicians founded and fronted by Alison Wheeler (the female vocalist from the multi-million album selling band The Beautiful South) who are performing at Glastonbury this year
  • Before Fame – Michael Burdett shares his memories of ‘discovering’ George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley at Saint Andrew's Methodist church hall in Bushey Heath and taking them to record their very first demo tracks
  • Tiger Jazz Sings, Watford’s own Dial Up Open Mic host Alex Williams who appeared on the recent series of Channel Four’s The Piano, performs a range of melodies from The Rat Pack, The Great American Songbook and beyond
  • Live, family friendly pro-wrestling featuring performers seen on the world's biggest television wrestling shows WWE and AEW
  • The best of local talent including Hertfordshire Opera, Watford Phoenix Choir, In Good Company musical theatre group, Mansi Dabrak Kathak Dance Academy, Three Proud Men, Stardust Big Band, and comedian Rohan Ashar.

Shows will take place in 18 different venue spaces across Watford, the highest number the festival has ever had. And it will all be officially launched at the free Watford Cultural Party on 28 June when there will be a grand stage at The Parade hosting a variety of live entertainment from 3-10pm, showcasing the best of Watford’s community and culture.

Lee Farman, chair of the Watford Pump House, said: “This year we’ve got the best line-up of local and national talent we’ve ever had at the Watford Fringe Festival so I would recommend booking your tickets now to avoid disappointment.”

The Festival is organised by the Watford Pump House in partnership with Watford Borough Council and sponsored by Watford Town Centre BID and Warner Bros Studios Leavesden.
