A familiar space by the pond is about to get a brand-new identity, and Watford Borough Council and Watford Town Centre BID are asking local people to help them choose a name for the area.
The event space by the pond is already a huge part of our community, hosting some fantastic events over the years for all different occasions, such as the Big Screen and Big Beach to Winterfest and more.
Now, with even more exciting plans in the pipeline for the area, the council are asking residents, businesses, schools and community groups to help come up with a catchy name that reflects what this space means to Watford and to assist with wayfinding to the location.
You can suggest your ideas by taking part in a quick online poll and providing what you would like to call this space and why at: surveymonkey.com/r/town-centre-space. The deadline is 18 June.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “We know how important our public places are to the people of Watford, and this one has already given us some amazing memories. We want to give the event space its own identity; therefore, we are asking our community to help shape the next chapter by choosing a name that captures its spirit! I can’t wait to see the brilliant suggestions people come up with.”
