Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “I’m not surprised that Watford is in the top ten commuter towns. It is a great place to live and we’ve invested a lot in the area, such as the High Street improvement works, £180million extension to the shopping centre and our award-winning Green Flag parks. We are continuing to invest in our transport infrastructure, recently launching an E-Car Club scheme for residents and we will introduce a new bus service and bike hire scheme this year too. These all help to ensure that Watford continues to be a place people love to live in.”
Other Hertfordshire towns also dominate the table - six of the best 10 commuter hotspots are found just north of London, including Watford there’s also Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Hatfield, Broxbourne and Hemel Hempstead. All boasting journey times of under 35 minutes into London and all with high lifestyle satisfaction ratings.
