Introducing our new live chat service, a new way to connect with the council

We’re excited to enhance our resident services with the launch of a new live chat feature on the council’s website!

This follows the successful introduction of ‘WatBot’ in October, our AI chatbot designed to provide instant support for common enquiries about elections, council tax, and waste and recycling 24/7.

How it works

Our live chat service complements WatBot by offering a seamless handover to our Customer Service Team for more personalised assistance when needed.

Live chat availability

  • Monday to Thursday: 9am – 5pm
  • Friday: 9am – 4:30pm

Why choose WatBot and live chat?

This initiative is part of our commitment to improving accessibility and efficiency:

  • 24/7 support: WatBot is always available to handle routine requests.
  • Fast responses: Immediate answers to common questions.
  • Accessibility for all: Multilingual options ensure we serve our diverse community.
  • Streamlined service: By automating simple tasks, our team can focus on more involved cases.

If the enquiry requires a more tailored approach, users will be instantly transferred to our brand new live chat service! Allowing you to speak to a member of Customer Service Team who will be able to handle your enquiry there and then. The new live chat service will be available from Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5pm and on Fridays, 9am – 4:30pm with WatBot being available 24/7.

What’s next?

Currently, both WatBot and the live chat feature support queries on elections, council tax, and waste and recycling. We’re actively gathering feedback to expand these services to meet your evolving needs.

We’re confident this new service will enhance your experience and make engaging with council services faster and more convenient.
