The proposed improvements could include:

  • Widening pavements
  • Adding greenery
  • Using better quality surface materials
  • Improving cycle parking
  • Introducing traffic calming measures to prioritise pedestrians

The improvements are part of our commitment to:

  • boost the look and feel of shopping parades
  • improve road safety
  • deliver our 20-year Transforming Travel in Watford Strategy to change how we travel around the town
  • Support local businesses 

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “I’m really pleased we are making these improvements. By adding more greenery and making the area safer for people walking, this will become a more pleasant environment for everyone.”
