Statement from the Council...
Watford Borough Council would like to express profound sadness on the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and extend sincere condolences to members of the Royal Family.
As a mark of respect to a remarkable monarch who devoted herself to the service of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, the Union flag is being flown at half-mast outside the Town Hall and the ceremonial mace has been shrouded in black.
Floral tributes can also be left at the Peace Memorial outside the Town Hall if people would like to show their respects in this way.
An online book has been opened by the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire and books of condolence will be opened so members of the public can pay their respects. These will be at the Town Hall and Watford Museum.
