Vaccination updates and managing your mental well-being

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have approved vaccinations for 5-11 year olds, and pregnant woman are urged to get fully vaccinated.

Data has shown that pregnant women are more at risk of severe COVID-19 and should not delay vaccination until after they have given birth. 

A new Covid -19 vaccination clinic has started at Watford General Hospital every Wednesday at 9am -3pm. This service is for pregnant women who are booked to deliver their babies at the hospital or have the opportunity to receive their vaccine. 

Please ask your midwife to book this appointment for you or you can call the maternity booking line on 01923 217 347/ 01923 218 140.

If you are seeing a consultant in the hospital and you want to have the vaccine, you can ask them to give you a booking slip to take to the maternity reception area whilst you are there.

Vaccinations for 5-11 years olds

The NHS is already offering vaccines to at-risk children and those who live with immunosuppressed people in this age group.

The NHS provides a range of talking therapies for common mental health issues such as anxiety and depression which are free, effective and confidential. You can refer yourself or your GP can refer you to this service.

Worried about getting your vaccine?

The vaccine is available to everyone. If you have a male friend or relative who is worried about getting their vaccine, or needs more information on the vaccine talk to your GP or a COVID response officer. We are working closely with vaccine clinics and GPs to call residents and answer questions residents may have about being vaccinated. We are here to support and can also book you in for a vaccine appointment if you wish.
