Improvement works to Vicarage Road Parade have now been completed, creating a more welcoming and accessible space for residents, businesses and visitors.
As part of the works, drainage channels have been installed along each side of the parade to address ponding issues and improve surface water management.
The existing seating has been replaced with new benches featuring back and arm rests, while street furniture has been consolidated, including cycle stands and bins, helping to create a tidier and more accessible space.
The tree pit has also been increased to allow for additional planting. Planting will take place later on in the year due to the current hosepipe ban, adding further greenery to the parade.
The works have been delivered as part of the council’s programme to improve local parades across Watford, and the council also hopes to deliver improvements to more parades in the future.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “It’s great to see the improvements to Vicarage Road Parade now completed. We’ve made a number of practical changes, from addressing the ponding issues to improving the seating and making better use of the space, which will make a real difference to the local area.
“We’re committed to continuing to improve neighbourhoods across Watford, and I hope we can build on this work by delivering improvements to more local parades in the future.”
