Big Beach is returning to the town centre from Friday 14 August to Sunday 30 August, bringing tonnes of sand and seaside fun to the area next to Watford Central Library. Open daily from 10am to 4pm, the free attraction offers the perfect place for families and visitors of all ages to relax and enjoy the summer holidays.
Visitors can sink their toes into the sand, unwind in deckchairs, and make the most of a selection of buckets, spades and beach toys available from the beach hut. Whether you're building sandcastles, enjoying a picnic or simply soaking up the summer atmosphere, Big Beach offers a fun and affordable day out right in the heart of Watford. Those looking for refreshments can also take advantage of the many cafés, restaurants and takeaways nearby in the town centre.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: "Big Beach has become a real summer favourite and we're delighted to be bringing it back for another year. It gives families the chance to enjoy a little taste of the seaside without leaving Watford, and best of all, it's completely free.

Big Beach is one of several free and low-cost events taking place across Watford this summer as part of the council's Big Events programme, helping bring people together and make the most of the school holidays.
