A new programme of free, creative SEND family workshops is coming to Watford this summer, as part of the Museum of Watford’s continued community engagement work, made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players.
Delivered in partnership with CathARTic, these workshops are designed to give children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) the opportunity to explore local heritage in a fun, inclusive and creative way.
Through art and hands-on activities, participants will discover Watford’s rich history, celebrate their community, and create their own artwork inspired by the town’s past and present.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: "We want every child and young person to have the opportunity to connect with Watford’s story in a way that works for them. These creative SEND workshops will provide a welcoming, inclusive space where families can explore local heritage, express themselves through art, and celebrate being part of our community. We are proud to be working with CathARTic to make these sessions possible, helping to ensure that local heritage is accessible, inclusive and inspiring for all."
