A packed programme of free and affordable events is returning to Watford this summer, bringing live entertainment, cultural celebrations and family activities to locations across the town.

From live music and outdoor cinema to festivals and theatre performances, there is something for everyone to enjoy this summer.

With something happening almost every week, the programme aims to bring people together, support local businesses and provide accessible activities for all ages to enjoy.


Big Bandstand | 14 June – 20 September | Cassiobury Park
Enjoy free live music performances every Sunday afternoon at the historic bandstand, featuring jazz, swing, brass and more throughout the summer.

Watford Pride Picnic | 20 June | Watford Heath Green
A relaxed, community-led pride celebration, bringing together the LGBTQ+ community for an inclusive afternoon of music, entertainment and social connection.

The Sword in the Stone | 28 June | Cassiobury Park
A magical outdoor theatre production of the much-loved classic arrives in Cassiobury Park for audiences of all ages.

Watford Fringe Festival | 1 - 31 July | Various locations
A month-long celebration of creativity featuring comedy, theatre, dance, music, workshops and live performances across Watford venues.

Market Lates Summer | 3 July | Watford Market
Experience Watford market after hours with street food, shopping and entertainment in a lively evening atmosphere.

Taste of the Caribbean | 11 July | Cassiobury Park
Celebrate Caribbean culture through food, music and entertainment in the vibrant town of Watford.

Big Jiveswing | 26 July | Cassiobury Park
One of the UK’s biggest free jazz and swing festivals returns with live music, dancing and performances throughout the day.

Under 19’s Free Gym and Swim Summer | 27 July – 28 August | Watford Leisure Centres
Young people under 19 can access free swimming and gym sessions during the summer holidays.

Wat’s On Summer | 27 July – 28 August | Various locations
A variety of free and low-cost holiday activities will take place across Watford, including sports, arts, crafts and workshops.

Big Screen | 3 – 9 August | Watford Town Centre
Enjoy free outdoor screenings of family favourites and blockbuster films in the town centre.

Watford Carnival | 8 August | Radlett Road Playing Fields
A vibrant carnival celebration bringing together music, entertainment and community activity, showcasing local culture and creativity.

Big Screen | 10 – 16 August | Woodside
A second week of outdoor cinema screenings brings more films and family entertainment to Woodside.

Big Beach | 14 – 30 August | Near Watford Central Library
The seaside returns to Watford with sand, deckchairs and beach-themed fun for families to enjoy.

Watford Community Family Fun Day | 15 August | King George V Playing Fields
A free community event featuring live music, performances, food stalls, activities and entertainment for all ages.

Herts Pride | 22 August | Cassiobury Park
Hertfordshire's biggest LGBTQ+ celebration returns with live entertainment, community stalls and a vibrant atmosphere.

Colourscape | 22 – 31 August | Cassiobury Park
Step into a colourful immersive experience of light and music inside the unique inflatable labyrinth.

 

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “I’m pleased to see such a wide range of events taking place across Watford this summer, with activities happening in our parks, town centre and community spaces.

“These events are a really good way of bringing people together over the summer months, with something for all ages to enjoy. From cultural celebrations to outdoor entertainment, there’s a real variety on offer.

“It’s also great that so many of these events are free or low-cost, helping to keep them accessible for everyone. I’d encourage people to take a look and get involved this summer.”
