Watford's public tennis courts benefit from new booking system to improve access

New keypad entry systems have now been successfully installed at Watford’s public tennis courts, marking the next step in improving access to these popular community facilities...

The upgrades, completed at Oxhey Grange, Lea Farm, Orchard and Cassiobury, will support the introduction of a new booking system designed to ensure fair and easy access for all players.

While the courts will remain completely free to use, from 1 June residents will be required to book their court in advance using Clubspark. Once a booking is made, players will receive a unique code to access the courts via the newly installed keypads.

The new keypad gate system is being introduced to provide the following benefits:

  • Unique PIN codes issued for the time you have booked
  • Advanced booking to ensure courts are available
  • Easy booking via the LTA Play Tennis app, allowing you to find and book courts on the go
  • Reduced anti-social behaviour and vandalism
  • A QR code on the gate enabling on-the-spot booking, subject to availability

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “It’s great to see these improvements now in place across our tennis courts. Keeping the courts free to use is really important to us, but we also want to make sure everyone has a fair chance to play. The new booking system is a simple way to manage demand and make access easier for residents.”
