Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review

How to activate the ASB Case Review

Review how your case has been handled

New legislation means that residents who have complained about anti-social behaviour (ASB) can ask for a review of how their case has been dealt with.

The ASB case review (PDF 737kB) means residents have the right to ask their council for a review of their case if they have made:

  • three separate complaints about an instance of ASB in the previous six months to the police or other partner agencies
  • three separate individuals have reported three similar ASB complaints in the previous six months to the police or other partner agencies.

Once activated, the ASB Case Review will bring together your local police, council and any other relevant agency that has previously dealt with your anti-social behaviour concerns in order to review your case.

How do I activate the ASB Case Review?

  • Use the police non-emergency number: 101
  • Through the council's online form
  • Contact your housing association

An initial assessment of your situation will be carried out at the next Community Protection Group (CPG) meeting.

ASB Case Review statistics (formally named Community trigger)

In 2022 the Community safety partnership received six trigger requests. Of these, five went to a panel hearing. At the end of these investigations four resulted in additional recommendations and actions being made to reduce the reported anti-social behaviour. The other case was dropped by the complainant.
