Licensee's responsibilities
Drivers are required to comply with the conditions of their licences, as laid out in our Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy 2021-2026 (PDF 1.33MB). Hackney carriage drivers also need to comply with our hackney carriage byelaws (PDF 54kB).
If you change your name or address, you will need to notify the Licensing team in writing. Please note that there is a fee of £7.40 to change your address.
Any accidents involving your taxi must be reported within 72 hours. Please use our online form.
Driver’s are required to notify the Licensing team in writing within 48 Hours of an arrest for any offence, or on receiving any of the following for any offence:
- a driving licence endorsement
- a fixed penalty notice
- a warning
- a reprimand
- a police caution
- a criminal conviction; or
- any other criminal proceedings
