Preventing terrorism

Working together to prevent terrorism

The council is working in partnership with the Police, housing providers, schools, colleges and a wide range of public service providers to challenge those who want to radicalise vulnerable people.

Let's talk about it is the national plan for stopping vulnerable people from being recruited by extremist propaganda. The plan is all about information sharing, and supporting and protecting those who are vulnerable to extremists ideology.

If you’re concerned about someone in your community please contact your local police force by calling 101 or if you need urgent police assistance dial 999. If you see or hear something that could be terrorist related, call the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.

ACT Early Prevent website

Counter-Terrorism Policing has released a new Prevent website that encourages families and friends to report concerns that a loved one may be vulnerable to radicalisation. ACT Early provides information on things to look out for, case studies and the details of a new national Prevent helpline which sits with the Police.
