Neighbourhood Locality funds
Our fund supports local voluntary and community groups in delivering a wide range of activities and events for residents across the town.
Each of our 12 wards has £3,000 per year available to fund small-scale, local initiatives that benefit the community.
How the Fund Can Be Used
Funds can be used to support:
- Local projects proposed by community groups, or initiatives that ward councillors would like to see in their area
- Councillors to set up community meetings involving residents, businesses, and other local groups to discuss important issues affecting the neighbourhood
To be eligible, the project must be:
- Legal
- Aligned with council policy
- A clear demonstration of value for money
Examples of previously funded projects include:
- Support for residents’ associations, schools, youth groups, sports clubs, and faith-based organisations
- Environmental improvements, such as new street trees, benches, or park gates
- Local cultural events and community engagement initiatives
A full list of past successful projects is available to view on the following pages.
