Report dog fouling

Report dog fouling

When you make a report you will be asked to provide the date, time, location, description of the dog and the dog owner if known.

What you can do

  • Always carry bags when you take your dog out so that you can clear up after your dog.
  • If you are caught not clearing up your dog's waste, you may be issued with a fixed penalty notice or even prosecuted, which can result in a fine of up to £1000.
  • Download one of our "yuk!" posters (PDF - 996kB) and display it at your property.

What we can do

It is an offence for a person responsible for a dog not to clean up immediately if the dog has fouled on public land.

Watford Borough Council will carry out patrols and investigate hot spot areas and can also issue fines and prosecute dog owners who do not clear up after their dog.
