House numbering and street naming

If you're developing residential or commercial property in Watford, you need to apply for a new address or street name during the development of your site.

Why you need to apply for house numbering

Registering a building number or name is the only way you can get an official formal address.

Your new address can then be used by:

  • emergency services
  • Royal Mail (who will assign you a postcode)
  • HM Land Registry
  • Valuation Office Agency
  • Ordnance Survey
  • council departments
