Neighbourhood CIL
Watford Council collects money for infrastructure from new developments through the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
15% of CIL is to be spent on infrastructure or ‘anything else that is concerned with addressing the demands that development places on an area’. This is called Neighbourhood CIL (NCIL). In Watford, we have decided to call this the Neighbourhood Grant.
The Neighbourhood Grant will be available each year for members of the public, local community groups or organisations to apply for funding to help with community projects. We want to ensure that local people benefit from sustainable growth in the borough.
