The Elected Mayor of Watford will lead the town in a minute’s silence tomorrow at 11:00 AM, as the town stops to remember those front line workers who have lost their lives to Coronavirus...
The town’s ‘Audentior’ flag will also be flown at half-mast from the Town Hall as a mark of respect to all those who have died from Watford during this crisis, including a number of staff members at Watford General Hospital.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said, ‘Tomorrow we will be stopping and reflecting on all those key workers who have lost their lives from COVID-19. We will also be lowering our town’s flag outside the Town Hall to half-mast as a sign of respect, particularly to those who worked at Watford General Hospital. My heart goes out to their loved ones.
'Those who have died are heroes, as are the people at our hospital going to work day in day, risking their lives to save others. Wherever we are, I hope we can stop what we are doing and remember them. I’m proud of everyone in our town who continue to save as many lives as they can by staying at home and stopping the spread of this dreadful virus.’
