Watford Borough Council champions the value of parks and green spaces in the borough and is pleased to have recently acquired a play area and open space at Nascot Grange...
The development, Nascot Grange, was completed in 2013 by CALA Homes and is located on the site of the former Cassio Campus of West Herts College. The open space and play area, previously managed by Nascot Grange Management Committee is a small local park.
Veolia, Watford’s streets and grounds maintenance partner will now manage the upkeep of the park. This will include playground inspections, litter clearance, tree maintenance, grass cutting, planting and more.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor said “Green spaces offer people a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of life to relax, keep healthy, learn about nature or spend time together with loved ones. We work hard to make sure our parks and green spaces are maintained to the highest possible standards, which is why we have the highest number of Green Flags in Hertfordshire. I hope everyone living in the area is able to enjoy this fantastic green space.”
Darren Harding, Senior Contracts Manager for Veolia said, "We are pleased to have another green space to manage in Watford. Our Parks and Open Spaces Team are experts in keeping green spaces clean, tidy, safe and serving the needs of the community. We already take great pride in maintaining the highest standards in our parks and we look forward to adding Nascot Grange to our portfolio.”
Twelve of Watford's parks and green spaces have been awarded Green Flag status, an award given to the best parks in the country. You can find out more about Watford’s open spaces at www.watford.gov.uk/parks
