Monitoring, which is regularly carried out on different aspects of the 80 year old building by Watford Borough Council, indicated some movement in the ceiling which then had to be checked for safety. Some remediation work was subsequently carried out by specialists to enhance the robustness of the structure. Watford Borough Council would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by these unforeseen works and the knock on effect on the events programme.

I am pleased to announce that Watford Colosseum will resume its full Winter programme from this Thursday, 12 December. I know the past few weeks has been a very frustrating and trying time for many customers who were looking forward to the shows they had booked. We have been working hard to resolve the unforeseen issues that arose in the auditorium and the Colosseum team has been busy rebooking as many of the cancelled shows as possible.  70% of these events have now been rearranged for later dates. We look forward to welcoming people for the full festive programme over the coming weeks and beyond. Elected Mayor Peter Taylor.
