The Cassiobury Park fireworks display takes place on Saturday 2 November, from 6.30 to 8.30pm

Revellers at this year’s free fireworks display at Cassiobury Park are being asked to give generously to the Peace Hospice and other local charities at the popular annual event being held on Saturday 2 November from 6.30 to 8.30pm.

The fireworks, which commemorates Guy Fawkes night, has kindly been sponsored by Berkeley Homes (North East London) Ltd and is supported by Watford community radio station Vibe 107.6FM, who will compère the stage. Entertainment will start at 6.30pm, with live performances from Georgia and the Vintage Youth. A huge bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm, with a 20-minute firework display starting at 8pm. There will be a variety of food and drink outlets, children’s funfair rides and bungee trampolines.

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “This is the largest free firework display in Hertfordshire and people always tell me how much they enjoy it. Each year we raise thousands of pounds for local charities who do great work in the town. It’s fantastic at a time where we have seen a 70% reduction in our funding from central government that we can put on events like these free of charge for people in our town to enjoy.”

To keep everyone safe, visitors will not be allowed to bring sparklers, fireworks or alcohol into the park.

Please note that the time of the event has been moved due to the Watford FC game so residents attending the fireworks display are reminded to allow plenty of time for travelling to Cassiobury Park. There will be no parking in the Gade Avenue car park from 3pm on Saturday 2 November, apart from a limited number of blue badge spaces. These will be available on a first come first served basis. There are also parking restrictions on nearby roads from 7am to 11pm, so if possible please park in one of the town centre car parks or walk to the park.

Limited car parking is available at the following locations, for £5 per car:

  • Cassiobury Junior School, Bellmount Wood Ave, WD17 3PD (120 spaces, open from 5.45pm)
  • Fullerians Rugby club, Coningesby Drive, WD17 3PB
  • Sun Sports & Social Club, Bellmount Wood Ave, WD17 3BN
