The Wat’s On programme runs from Monday 29 July to Saturday 31 August at various locations throughout the town. There’ll be a range of activities to enjoy including drama workshops, dance academy, singing and stage school. Children can also let their imagination guide them on different adventures, from saving the world as a superhero to Wild West fun. For more active children, there’ll be plenty of sports to take part in, or they can let their creativity shine through arts and craft sessions. There will also be new workshops on photography, filming, social media and design skills for older children this summer too. All activities will take place in parks, open spaces and some indoor locations across Watford.
All sessions are free and no booking is required so feel free to turn up to as many sessions as you wish. Participants or their parents/carers must register each child at every activity they attend by signing in. Videography and/or photography at the events may occur. If you would prefer not to have your child participate, please let an official know.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “We have faced a reduction of 70% in funding from central government in the last 10 years but despite this I’m really pleased that we’re able to continue to provide these free activities for our young residents to enjoy. There will be something to suit every young person to keep them active and busy over the school summer holiday.”
