Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, was on hand as Watford Borough Council raised the rainbow flag to celebrate the borough’s LGBT*Q community ahead of Herts Pride on Saturday (8 September).

Herts Pride, which is supported by the council, is an annual fun packed day that promotes equality and diversity across the county and celebrates our diverse and vibrant communities.  This year’s event is being held at Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead from 12pm to 10pm.

Mayor Taylor commented: “Flying the flag during Herts Pride weekend is a great way to show we are a town that welcomes everyone.  Watford has a wonderful reputation for being a diverse and vibrant place to live and we all have a part to play in ensuring this remains an important part of who we are as a town. I am determined to be a Mayor for everyone in Watford.”
