An innovation competition has been launched to find technology experts to help make Watford Borough Council a tech-savvy organisation, providing digitally advanced services to its residents.
There are two separate challenges, inviting developers to create parking-related and town centre footfall technology. Anyone who is up to the challenge can find the full details – including assessment criteria – on our Innovation Competition web pages.
Up to £20,000 of investment funding will be made available for the parking challenge, while up to £10,000 will be available for the footfall challenge. The money will be provided in two stages – 50% upfront, and 50% at the completion of the trial. The deadline for applications is Monday 11 June.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “We are a bold and progressive council and we’re always looking at ways that we can improve services for people who live in our town. I want your thoughts on how we can be a tech-savvy council. I look forward to hearing from you!”
