Join us at atria Watford on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 April, as we celebrate the vibrant tapestry of our High Street's past, present, and future.

Come alone for an engaging exploration of the history of our beloved High Street. Step into the past as we showcase three treasures from the museum's collection, each with its own captivating story rooted in the heart of our local shops. Discover the secrets behind these artefacts and gain a deeper understanding of their significance in shaping the High Street's evolution.

Here's what you can expect at this exciting event:

  • Pick and mix stall: Children will have the opportunity to indulge in a free activity pack to enjoy at home, filled with educational and entertaining materials.
  • Craft animal puppets: Dive into the High Street's history as a Cattle Market by crafting your own animal puppets. Let your imagination run wild as you explore the rich heritage of our community.
  • Design your own Scammel Truck: Unleash your creativity by designing your very own Scammel Truck, a nod to the commercial vehicles that once traversed our bustling High Street. Show off your artistic skills and take home a unique memento of the event.
  • Unlock Watford’s history: Pick up a map of Watford’s fascinating heritage trail! Walk through time and culture, explore the hidden gems, stories and landmarks that make Watford unique.
