Since the war began, thousands of Ukrainians have been killed defending their freedom. Millions more have been forced from their homes, with over 174,000 Ukrainians finding refuge in the UK under the Ukraine Family Scheme and Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “I'm really thankful to the families in Watford who've welcomed Ukrainian residents during this tough period. Luther Blissett and Lauren Fox have put in a lot of effort to support Ukrainians, and the events they have hosted at both St Mary’s Church and the Sunflower Social Club have been a source of joy for many.”

People are invited to join the ceremony and reflect, to show their support for the Ukrainian community.
