Dirty Dancing is the winner of Watford Borough Council's People's Choice vote and will be shown on Watford's very own outdoor cinema, the Big Screen.
The 1987 romantic hit beat off competition from Avengers Assemble, Casablanca and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure to win our public vote. Get ready to have the time of your life, because Patrick Swayze and a girl called 'Baby' are going to be dancing all over Watford's Big Screen at 5.30pm on Saturday 22 August.
Elected Mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill said: “I think a lot of people are going to very pleased that this big hit will be shown on Watford’s free outdoor screen. It’s also great that people got into the spirit of things by joining in this fun vote. And remember, nobody puts baby in the corner.”
The Big Screen on The Parade by the pond is returning for the second year and is 30% bigger this year and the sound is even better. From Thursday 20 August to Saturday 23 August people can turn up to watch eight different films for free. Feel free to bring along chairs, blankets and picnics, or take advantage of the classic cinema snacks on sale.
