From 5.30pm on Friday 30 October ghosts and zombies will take over Cassiobury park.

Published: Thursday, 8th October 2015

Residents of Watford, aged 6 and over, can take part in a sword fight, cast spells, and aim to solve the mysteries of Cassiobury Park. An interactive and chilling event that no one should miss.

The event will recreate stories of the ghosts of old that are said to wander in the park. Find out about Baron Arthur Capel’s headless ghost, restless as his dying wish was never fulfilled. Having married into the family who owned Cassiobury estate in 1629, a keen and innovative gardener, Arthur Capel joined the Royalist cause. Capel was arrested at the end of the war for treason and beheaded at the Tower of London. His last request was to have his heart placed at the feet of Charles I in his grave. Sixty years later his heart was found, his request was left unfulfilled, as his heart was then placed in the family vault.

Just £20 per team of four, to book, please email deborah.brady@watford.gov.uk

This spooky event is part of a whole series of events run in conjunction with the Cassiobury Park Heritage Lottery Fund project.
