Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) are now accepting applications for residents to hold a street party in celebration of King Charles III’s coronation on Saturday 6 May 2023.

The King will be crowned alongside The Queen Consort, Camilla, at Westminster Abbey, with 2,000 set to attend and millions expected to flock to London to see this historical event. For those who would like to celebrate closer to home, they can submit an application until 26 March 2023 to celebrate with a street party.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this special day with their community. A street party is a beloved tradition that brings together residents for a day of food, music and fun. It is also a great way to meet new people, support local businesses, and have a great time.”
