Last week, Watford Museum was teeming with young children keen to hear Roald Dahl’s stories The Twits and The BFG.

The sessions were organised to celebrate the children’s author in what would have been his centenary year.
After listening to the iconic tales, the children were able to make their own Mr Twit beards, full of disgusterous worms and dirt, and BFG dream bottles, filled with the stuff their dreams are made of.
Watford Council’s Head of Culture and Play, Gary Oliver, said: "This wonderful Big Word Fest event captured the spirit of Roald Dahl and brought his stories to life.
Providing children with these opportunities to engage with culture and literature enriches their lives and allows them to make fantastic memories."
All the beards and bottles are now on display at Watford Museum and will be entered into a competition to win a family ticket see James and the Giant Peach at Watford Palace Theatre.
