Get Christmas all wrapped up at 'Watford’s Festive Sunday Market'
To get the town into the festive spirit, Watford Market will be filled with the sound of Christmas carols, traders offering handmade gifts, colourful decorations adorning stalls and the aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon drifting in the air on 4 December.
Taking inspiration from the unique traditions and favoured celebrations we all enjoy, from 10am to 3pm, the market will be hosting a wide variety of traders selling everything needed for a fabulous Christmas cracker of an event, from handmade gifts and pastries to that special Christmas tipple. There will be plenty of choice - from candles, cheese, jewellery, cakes, craft beer, flowers, with more to be confirmed.
Local music acts performing include young singer-songwriter Soraya Ray and Abbots Langley Gilbert & Sullivan Society who will be singing familiar festive carols throughout the event, allowing people to soak up the Christmas atmosphere whilst they browse the festive craft market.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, and Councillor Tim Williams at a previous Sunday Market
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “We are really looking forward to seeing people enjoying the market’s Christmas cheer at our Festive Sunday Market! For many businesses, Christmas is their busiest time, so it’s really important we support them as much as we can.
“This event presents a great opportunity to soak up the festive atmosphere, pick up some unique Christmas gifts and enjoy a mince pie and mulled wine whilst supporting the local businesses and traders that make these events possible. Shopping locally means money is kept in the local economy – supporting jobs and local families.”
The event will be part of the Watford Borough Council and Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor’s borough-wide campaign ‘Shop Local, Shop Watford’ to highlight the wealth of excellent businesses our shopping areas have to offer this Christmas and beyond.
