Watford’s businesses, charities and other organisations are set to benefit from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which was launched earlier this year to support the ‘levelling up’ agenda.

Watford Borough Council has now been allocated a share of the fund - £1m over the next 3 years - to invest in the town. To access this funding, the council must submit an investment plan by 1 August 2022 which will set out the mix of activities to be delivered to meet local needs.

Businesses, charities and organisations are now invited to submit their investment ideas in the form of a proposal. Successful proposals will then be included in the plan.

Funding can be used to support a wide range of projects in Watford, across three investment priorities:

· Community and place.

· Supporting local business.

· People and skills.

The closing date for proposals is 28 June. More information is available on the funding and how to make an Expression of Interest here.
