Watford Borough Council is urging people who have been invited to register to vote to respond now before the deadline on Monday.

Election officers have sent registration forms to all the people in Watford who are not currently on the electoral roll – and 4,000 have yet to respond.

Elected Mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill said: “If you don’t respond by Monday, you won’t be on the electoral roll on 1 December. There will be elections for every seat on Watford Borough Council and for the Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s office in May 2016. Don’t lose your chance to have your say – register to vote now.”

The borough elections will be for the whole council next year following the current boundary review, with all 36 council seats up for election. Anyone who wants to vote must be registered. If you are not currently registered, you can register online here.
