Watford Borough Council is urging all EU, EEA and Swiss citizens living in Watford to apply now for the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living and working in the UK after 30 June 2021.

With under a year left until the deadline, we advise everyone eligible to apply now to secure their status and feel confident about their future in the United Kingdom after Brexit. If your application is successful, you’ll get either settled or pre-settled status.

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “Watford has a diverse population, with many EU, EEA and Swiss citizens playing a valued and important role in our community. June 2021 might feel far away now but it will soon be here and the application process can take some time. So please don’t put off applying to the EU Settlement Scheme. If you need help with your application, there is a lot of support available.”

So far, there have already been more than 3.6million applications and more than 3.3million have now been granted status.

Residents who have any questions about the scheme or who need support applying can go to https://eu-settled-status-enquiries.service.gov.uk/start

The EU Resettlement Resolution Centre continues to provide support seven days a week by telephone. People can also use the EU Exit ID Document check app to complete the identity stage of their application. A postal route is also available.
