Council services affected by coronavirus

Watford Council services

Most council services are operating as normal during the coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic. However, some services are affected.   

  • Parking - from 20 December 2020 enforcement in CPZ areas is suspended and in council car parks but yellow lines on main routes, bus routes and at junctions still being enforced
  • Bins and recycling  - operating as normal (incl Waterdale waste and recycling centre)
  • Crematoriums and cemeteries - services for up to 30 people, grounds open to public
  • Parks and outdoor spaces including playgrounds and public toilets - open
    • Outdoor sports facilities including golf clubs, tennis courts and skateparks closed
  • Town hall customer services centre -  face to face by appointment only, services can be accessed online or by phone
  • Leisure and recreational facilities
    • Watford Central Library, Leisure Centres and Watford Museum all closed
  • Council committee meetings - operating as normal virtually
  • Housing and homelessness services - operating as normal
  • Planning applications- operating as normal
  • Building control - operating as normal
  • Licensing - suspended
  • Environmental health inspections of food premises - suspended
