Borough council elections
The election of borough councillors is held three times every four years on the first Thursday in May, namely 2018, 2019, 2020. 2022 etc.
The next scheduled Borough Elections will take place in May 2018.
Watford Borough is represented by 36 Ward Councillors, with three councillors representing each ward.
Watford Mayoral election
The Election of Watford’s Mayor is held once every four years.
The next scheduled Mayoral Election will be May 2018 combined with Borough elections scheduled for same date.
County council elections
The election of councillors to serve on Hertfordshire County Council is held every fourth year on the first Thursday in May.
The next scheduled County Council elections will be May 2017.
Watford Borough is represented by six County Councillors.
Parliamentary general election
Members of Parliament are elected to the House of Commons every five years and the next elections are scheduled for May 2020.
The last Parliamentary election was held on 7 May 2015.
The whole of the area administered by Watford combined with 13 Wards from Three Rivers District Council forms the Watford Constituency.
Police and crime commissioner elections
The last election for the new Police and Crime Commissioner for the Hertfordshire Police Authority took place on Thursday 5 May 2016.
Police and Crime Commissioners are elected every four years, with the next elections scheduled for May 2020.
European parliamentary elections
The last European parliamentary elections were held on Thursday, 22 May 2014. Watford, in addition to 46 other local authorities in the region, combine to form the European Parliamentary Eastern Region.
The next scheduled European parliamentary elections are in 2019.
The next scheduled referendum will be the Referendum on the UKs membership of the European Union which will take place on Thursday, 23rd June 2016.
