Renew my claim

How often do I have to renew my Housing Benefit?

You no longer have to renew your claim every year. We will check your claim occasionally by asking you to complete a review form or asking to visit you. If your circumstances change at any time you must tell us immediately by emailing benefits@watford.gov.uk.

Please include your name, address and benefits reference number in the subject line of your email.

It is also important to tell us:

  • what the change is
  • when the change happened

If your pension  or earnings have changed, we will need to see copies of your payslip.
