How often do I have to renew my Housing Benefit?

You no longer have to renew your claim every year. We will check your claim occasionally by asking you to complete a review form or asking to visit you. If your circumstances change at any time you must tell us immediately by emailing

Please include your name, address and benefits reference number in the subject line of your email.

It is also important to tell us:

  • what the change is
  • when the change happened

If your pension  or earnings have changed, we will need to see copies of your payslip.
